About the Hackathon

Welcome to the 1st Single Cell & Spatial Omics Hackathon, to be held at the Oceans and Fisheries HRD Institute in Gijang, Busan. This exciting event will bring together experts, researchers, and data scientists in Korea in a collaborative setting to innovate in the fields of single-cell and spatial omics data analysis.

By joining this hackathon, you'll have the chance to work with peers, engage with real-world datasets, and develop cutting-edge tools that provide deep insights into single-cell and spatially resolved biological data.

Date: August 19, 2024 - August 22, 2024
Location: Oceans and Fisheries HRD Institute, Gijang, Busan

Hackathon?

A hackathon is a collaborative event in which participants work intensively on a project, typically software or hardware, for a defined period of time. The goal of a hackathon is to create usable software or hardware with the goal of solving a problem or creating a new product.

Unfortunately, especially in Korea, Hackathon is often misunderstood as just a competition and not as a collaborative event. We hope to change this perception by organizing this event.

The 1st Single Cell & Spatial Omics Hackathon will focus on developing tools and methods for analyzing single-cell and spatial omics data. Participants will work in teams to develop innovative solutions to complex problems in the field.

Agenda

Spatial Transcriptomics

  • Cell segmentation of high resolution ST data (e.g., Visium HD)
  • Neighbor-specific alteration of gene expression
  • Tissue territory/domain analysis
  • Integration

Single-cell Transcriptomics

  • Application of AI, e.g., GPTs
  • Lineage tracing
  • Sane method for HVG selection
  • Genotype to phenotype inference
